USI Conducted Strategic Panel Discussion at the Naval War College, Goa on 28-29 June 2019

The USI of India conducted Strategic Panel Discussion for the senior officers of the Armed Forces at the Naval War College, Goa. A week long core programme is organised for the high-ranking officers, who are in the promotion zone for higher ranks.

The USI of India conducted Strategic Panel Discussion for the senior officers of the Armed Forces at the Naval War College, Goa. A week long core programme is organised for the high-ranking officers, who are in the promotion zone for higher ranks. The USI conducted interaction on the following themes:

  • Kashmir Conflict and India’s Strategic Response
  • Strategy for Balancing China-Pakistan Strategic Nexus
  • China’s Strategic Forays in India’s Neighbourhood, Implications and Strategy for Restoring Strategic Balance
  • Reforms in India’s National Security, Policy Making and its Implementation

The USI team comprised of Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director, USI; Lt Gen GS Katoch, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), Distinguished Fellow, USI; Vice Admiral Satish Soni, PVSM, AVSM, NM (Retd), Distinguished Fellow, USI; Air Marshal PK Roy, PVSM, AVSM, VM, VSM (Retd); Shri Tilak Devasher, Member NSAB; Shri Gautam Bambawale, Former Ambassador to China, Pakistan, Bhutan, and Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Deputy Director (Research) and Head Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation (CS3).

The USI team had a very interesting discussion and the sessions proved highly useful in the cross fertilisation of perspectives and in enhancing understanding of matters of national security. The Programme conducted by the USI was greatly appreciated by the participants as well as the Naval War College.
