Inaugural Session

The Opening Remarks were given by Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director USI. The Tibetan delegation was led by Mr Lepskay and had four other members representing the Tibet Policy Institute.

                Tibetan Delegation

In the first session Mr Zamlha Tempa Gyaltsen, from the Environment & Development Desk, spoke on the topic “Why Tibet Matters to the Indian Sub-continent”. In the second session Dr. Tenzin Desa discussed “The History & Politics of Reincarnation”. Mr Tenzin Tseten in the third session spoke on “How China control and regulate Tibetan Buddhism in Tibet”. In the final session Mrs Dechen Palmo, from the Environment & Development Desk spoke on the issue of “China’s Strategic Interest in the Yarlung Tsangpo”.

                   The Audience

After the session there was a Q&A session where the audience actively participated. The closing remarks were given by the Director USI.
