The National Police Academy (NPA) organised a week long National Security Seminar for senior police, central police, military, intelligence and civil services officers. The major themes of the seminar were National Security a macro view, internal security, external security challenges .border management, cyber security, maritime security, nuclear security, economic security, energy security, media security, Pak-China Strategic Nexus.
The key note address was delivered by Shri PS Raghavan, Convenor , National Security Advisory Board , whereas, the valedictory address was given by the Hon’ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State .A galaxy of eminent speakers delivered talks and participated in the panel discussions.
The USI team was represented by the Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director, USI, Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Dy Director (Research), Brig Narinder , Distinguished Fellow, Ambassador TCA Raghavan, IFS ( former High Commissioner to Pakistan ) , Mr Jitesh Khosla , IAS ( former Chief Secy, Assam ), Mr JN Chaudhary , IPS( former DG National Security Guard) , Mr Rajindra Kumar ,IPS( former DG police of Jammu and Kashmir ). USI team covered, National Security, Pak-China Strategic Nexus, and Insurgency in Northeast and conflict in Kashmir. Lt. Gen PK Singh moderated panel discussion on Northeast, whereas, panel discussion on Kashmir was moderated by Maj Gen BK Sharma.
Lt. Gen PK Singh, Director USI and Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Dy Director (Research) conducted a session on India’s National Security. The Director spoke on the historical perspective of India’s National Security, covering Pre and Post-independence Strategic shifts. Maj Gen BK Sharma focused on contemporary national security interests, concepts of Comprehensive National Power, Comprehensive National Security, national security structures, horizon scan and guidelines for articulating a cogent National Security Strategy. He also spoke on “China’s Strategic Outlook, Direction, Behaviour and Nexus with Pakistan: Implications for India.
