The College of Air Warfare (CAW) at Secunderabad conducts the flagship Higher Air Command Course for Group Captain and equivalent ranks of all three services every year.
This year a series of lectures were delivered by the USI team under the leadership of Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director USI. The team members included Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Dy Director (Research), Shri Skand Ranjan Tayal, IFS (Retd) and Dr Roshan Khanijo ,Senior Research Fellow & Research Coordinator, USI.
The flagship programme started with the lecture by Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Dy Director (Research), on the topic “Evolving Security Scenario in Afghanistan: Implications for Regional stability and Role of India.”. This was followed by a lecture on – on “India’s Neighbourhood Scan: Implications for India” by Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director USI.
Since the theme was ‘Supranational organisations & Alliances and their role in shaping global Geo-Politics” Shri Skand Ranjan Tayal, IFS (Retd) spoke on the topic of “South East Asia’s Role in Evolving Regional Order: Options for India / “Role of ASEAN/South East Asia in India and China Dynamic.” This was followed by a presentation by Dr Roshan Khanijo, on the topic “Supranational Institutions & Alliances – Atomic Energy, Missile Tech Related Issues (IAEA, NPT, MTCR, NSG etc.)”.
On completion of each session there was a free and frank discussion, where the officers actively participated by asking pertinent questions.
