USI organised a round table discussion on the topic “Indo-US Partnership in the Coming Decades” with Amb Kenneth I Juster, Embassy of USA on 11 April 2019. The US delegation included Derek Westfall, Deputy Political Minister Counsellor; Evan Felsing, Deputy Minister Counsellor; Richard Fishel, Political Officer; Navjot Bir Singh, Political Specialist. The USI delegation comprised of Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director USI; Amb Arun Kumar Singh, IFS (Retd); Shri P.S. Gangadhar, Director (AMS); Lt Gen VG Khandare, PVSM, AVSM, SM (Retd), Military Adviser to NSA; Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM & Bar (Retd), Dy Dir (Research); Amb Asoke Mukerji, IFS (Retd); Amb Ajai Malhotra, IFS (Retd); Maj Gen Rajiv Narayanan, AVSM, VSM (Retd), Distinguished Fellow; Maj Gen RPS Bhadauria, VSM (Retd), Distinguished Fellow; Dr Roshan Khanijo, Assistant Director (Research).
The welcome remarks were made by Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), Director USI. Opening remarks were made by Amb AK Singh, IFS (Retd). The US perspective was given by Amb Kenneth I Juster, embassy of USA. It was followed by a free and frank discussion. The issues discussed were Rise of China, Terrorism, Economic Growth and Defence and Security. The concluding remarks were made by Amb Kenneth I Juster. The closing Remarks were made by the Director, USI, who also presented a memento to the US Ambassador.
