The United Service Institution of India (USI) conducted a Round Table Discussion at USI on 13 December 2017. The speakers were Dr Thomas Lynch, Distinguished Research Fellow for South Asia and the Near East in the Center for Strategic Research (CSR) at the Institute of National Strategic Studies (INSS) at the National Defense University (NDU) and Ambassador TCA Raghavan, IFS (Retd).
The Director, USI, Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd), commenced the session with his welcoming and opening remarks. In the first session Dr Thomas Lynch spoke on ‘China’s Strategic Behaviour’ and on prospects for forming a Quad. Dr Lynch also spoke on growing convergences of Indo-US ties and its impact on the regional security.
In the second session Shri TCA Raghavan, IFS (Retd) spoke on “China-Pakistan- North Korean Nexus: Implications on Strategic Stability”.
This was followed by a Question & Answer Session where the participants discussed the evolving contemporary issues. The closing remarks were given by the Director, USI.
