The first virtual summit of the Quad will be held on 12 March 2021. This follows up on the 3rd Quad Ministerial Meeting held on 18 February 2021. The Press release of India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) was succinct.[1] The leaders will discuss “practical areas of cooperation towards maintaining a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific Region”. They will also discuss “resilient supply chains, emerging and critical technologies, maritime security, and climate change”, and collaboration in providing vaccines against Covid-19. The White House Press Secretary said that the Covid-19 pandemic, economic cooperation and climate change will be among the three issues to be discussed.
