Nine students from the Christ University, Bangalore completed a month long internship at the USI from April 18 to May 20, 2016.

Nine students from the Christ University, Bangalore completed a month long internship at the USI from April 18 to May 20, 2016. Experts from USI delivered lectures and interacted with the students on various themes like research methodology, synopsis writing, Indian foreign policy, internal security and counter terrorism, India’s defence policy, India-Pakistan relations, India’s relations with Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Myanmar, Resource security, India’s maritime security, cyber security and India’s nuclear policy. The students were also encouraged to write for the USI blog. USI also arranged their visit to National Museum and National Archives.

The students prepared their research papers and made their presentations in the last week of their internship. Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM & Bar (Retd) and Deputy Director (Research) and other research faculty from USI gave their inputs to students to further refine and improve their papers. Lt. Gen. PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd) and Director, USI congratulated the students on successful completion of their internship and their paper presentations. He said it is very important for the young generation to understand India’s security and foreign policy issues. He also encouraged the students for expressing their ideas through blog, articles and social media. Certificates were given to the students and a group photo was taken followed by lunch.
