Dr. Roshan Khanijo's academic qualification includes BSc, MA and PhD. Her topic for the doctoral thesis was "Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and Developing Countries – A Critical Appraisal" She is the author of a book "Complexities and Challenges of Nuclear India" She was the member of the study team which did the Net Assessment on China and South Asia. She has been a panelist in Panel Discussions on nuclear issues. She presented a paper in the seminar organized by CIISS (China Institute for International and strategic Studies) in Beijing .She also took part in the discussions held by CICIR (China Institute of Contemporary International Relations) in Beijing. She has taken guest lectures for Jindal International University .Currently she is working as a Research Fellow at USI.

The 4th Afghanistan-India Security Dialogue, Kabul, Nov 25, 2018

The 4th “Afghanistan-India Security Dialogue” co-organised by Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS) and United Service Institute of India (USI) was held at the AISS Kabul on November 25, 2018. The theme of this dialogue was “Experience of Afghanistan and India in the F ield of Counterterrorism.”

Visit of 37-member Myanmar National Defence College Delegation on 06 Nov 2018

A 37-member Myanmar National Defence College (NDC) delegation visited USI on 06 Nov 2018. The delegation was headed by Maj Gen Myat Kyaw, Commandant of NDC, Myanmar. The welcome remarks were made by Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Deputy Director (Research) and Head of Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation, USI.

Brig Narender writes, drones are emerging as new weapon for use at tactical level having operational and strategic implications. Use of drones by state and non-state actors will increase in the future since it gives leverage to cause collateral damage, act as target designator for smart bombs, carryout surveillance and act as a platform for electronic warfare.
