Prime Minister Modi Calls for Common International Strategy to Counter Global Terror at G20 Summit

Success in the global war against terrorism is within reach if countries adopt a common strategy, the Indian Prime Minister stressed while meeting French President Francois Hollande on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

Responding to US Defense Secretary Chuch Hagel’s comments that the US-led air war against Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) will intensify and that the American people must prepare for a long and difficult struggle, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi observed “Success against global terror is within reach if States adopt a common strategy.”

Mr. Modi made the statement during his meeting with French President Francois Hollande at the sidelines of the G20 summit in Brisbane in Australia.

Again, in a major gain for India, the summit endorsed the Indian government’s line on the need for transparency and disclosure of tax information as Prime Minister Narendra Modi voiced support for a new global standard on automatic exchange to tackle the black money issue.
