A high-ranking delegation from Oman National Defence College (NDC), led by Brig Gen Awadh Bin Mohd Said Al-Mashaikhi and co-members Brig Ahmed Bin Mohammed Bin Yusuf Al-Fahdi, Lt Majid Abdullah Mohammed Al-Battashi and Gp Capt. Hamdan Murshid Abdullah Al Lahori visited the USI on 13 October 2014, to discuss the framework for cooperation between NDC Oman and the USI. The delegation was briefed on the charter of the USI and the scope for cooperation between the two institutions.

Round Table Discussion on ‘Regional Security’
The USI organized a Round Table Discussion (RTD) on 14 October 2014 on the theme ‘Regional Security’. From the USI side Amb R S Kalha spoke on “Development on Middle East and its impact on Regional Security,”
Amb Rajiv Sikri shed light on “Developments in Af-Pak Region and its impact on Regional Security” and Cmde Lalit Kapur gave a presentation on “Developments in the IOR and its impact on Regional Security
The event was attended by eminent members of the strategic community . It concluded with a frank and informed discussion between the Indian side and the Omani delegation.
