Shivangi Shrivastava Writes: When the whole south Asia and the west participated in the very much anticipated China’s OBOR meeting, which was held in Beijing on 14th and 15th may. India stood on its stand and send its clear-cut message on the resentment of the implementation of the CPEC, the flagship project of one belt one road.  Pakistan and china have shown support to each other previously, and China’s policy in the area of India and Pakistan relation always have been pro-Pakistan in nature, but CPEC is a threat to India’s sovereignty as it passes through the Gilgit -Baltistan, a part of Jammu and Kashmir which is under Pakistani invasion. Economically China -Pakistan-economic corridor is going to help Pakistan a lot but the question here lies is how China can carry out such a huge project which is an Indian territory and is facing disputes. China’s has brought itself into the dispute by waving this corridor. OBOR has been catching all attention since its inception, but what good here is that India didn’t succumb to global power and maintained its stand and did not attend the meeting.

China claims CPEC as its economic investment and shows no intentions of putting a stop to the project as it has invested a lot already in the project, however, they do not want India to completely be isolated and recently they even said that they don’t mind changing its name also. it’s not the name which is going to change the route, with two neighbour nations which don’t share a close ally with India, if they come together and try to attack its sovereignty, there is no way India is going to compromise or create any friendly relations and that’s what India did, by not attending the meeting and took a strong stand on the issue of its sovereignty.
