A 37-member Myanmar National Defence College (NDC) delegation visited USI on 06 Nov 2018. The delegation was headed by Maj Gen Myat Kyaw, Commandant of NDC, Myanmar. The welcome remarks were made by Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Deputy Director (Research) and Head of Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation, USI.
Brig Narender Kumar, SM, VSM (Retd), Distinguished Fellow, US delivered a lecture on “Myanmar’s Significance in India’s Act East Policy,” where he highlighted India’s historical ties with Myanmar and its pivotal role in India’s foray in South East Asia through it Act East Policy. It was followed by an extensive deliberation over the topic during the Q&A session. Closing remarks were made by Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Deputy Director (Research) and Head of Centre for Strategic Studies and Simulation, USI, after which the two sides exchanged Mementos.
