USI team conducted Pakistan-China Capsules for the 31st Naval Higher Command Course at Naval War College, Goa on 27 & 28 Sept 2018. The Naval War College is a premier institution of the Indian Navy. This year 38 officers of the rank of Col and equivalent attended the course along with seven officers from neighbouring countries.
In the first session, shri Tilak Devasher, retired Special Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Government of India gave a lecture on the topic “Evolving Internal Dynamics of Pakistan: Implications for Regional Stability,” which was followed by a Q&A session. In the second session, shri Sushant Sareen, Senior Fellow ORF gave a talk on “Overview of Pakistan’s Foreign Policy: Challenges and Prospects.” A syndicate discussion followed the Q&A session. In the third session, Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Dy Director (Research), USI made a presentation on the topic “Pak & China Strategic Nexus: Implications and Response by India.”
On 28, Sept, in the first session, Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd), Dy Director (Research), USI gave a lecture on “China’s Strategic Outlook: Direction and Behaviour,” which was followed by Q&A session. In the second session, Shri Jayadeva Ranade, President Center for China Analysis & Strategy (TBC) gave an assessment of “China’s Internal Dynamics.” It was followed by a Q& A session and a syndicate discussion. In the final session, Maj Gen Rajiv Narayanan, AVSM, VSM (Retd), Distinguished Fellow, USI made a presentation on the topic “Trends of Chinese Strategic Foray’s in the Indo-Pacific and IOR Region.”
