USI conducted a Seminar on “The Dynamics of China’s Growing Influence: Implications and Response” at USI on 04 May 2018.
Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd),The Director, USI commenced the session with his opening remarks.
In the First session, Shri Ashok Kantha, IFS (Retd) discussed “China’s World View in Xi Era and its Outreach in India’s Strategic Neighbourhood: Implications and Options for India.”
In the second session, Dr Jayadeva Ranade discussed on the issue of “Assessment of the Internal Dynamics of CCP in Xi Era.”
In subsequent session, Dr Uttam Kumar Sinha shared his perspective on the topic Water: China’s Emerging Tool for Strategic Coercion.”
In the latter session, Maj Gen Rajiv Narayanan, AVSM, VSM (Retd) discussed on “PLA Reforms – Doctrinal and Structural Issues: Implications for India.”
In the final session, Air Vice Marshal Manmohan Bahadur, VM (Retd) gave a presentation on the topic “Trends in PLAAF Modernisation: Implications and Options for India.”
The session was followed by a Q&A session.
Overall remarks and remarks on emerging contentious issues were made by Lt Gen SL Narasimhan, PVSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd) and Maj Gen BK Sharma, AVSM, SM** (Retd).
