Assam Rifles, the oldest Para Military Force raised in 1835 and USI of India, India’s oldest Defence and Security think tank raised in 1870 conducted a joint Seminar “Unravelling Haze that Obscures North East’s Potential for Acting East” at the USI premise on 12 February 2021.

USI Signed an MoU with Assam Rifles at Manekshaw Centre on 15 Feb 2020
USI the oldest think tank of India has signed an MOU with Assam Rifles, the oldest Para Military Force in India. Under this MOU an ‘Assam Rifles Chair of Excellence’ has been created to conduct research in the field of conflict studies, national security, socio-economic and cultural fields, with the focus being on North Eastern region and its neighbourhood including South East Asia.
