Roshan Writes: North Korea conducted its fifth nuclear test which is considered to be the strongest so far, as the yield was of 10 kiloton and the North Korean publicity machine states that North Korea now has the capability to mount nuclear warheads on ballistic rockets. In spite of sanctions North Korea is still able to achieve its objectives, this make one ponder that is China playing a double game? On one side it is agreeing with the global community for sanctions but on the other hand it is equally aiding North Korea to achieve its goal thus indirectly pressurizing South Korea to reassess their decisions. China has this uncanny habit of converting failures into successes. Even now there are Chinese strategists who are blaming the South Korea for this imbroglio as they believe that the south’s intention to go in for THAAD missile system is shifting the balance in the Korean peninsula. Americans and the South Koreans are not able to use the propaganda machine that deftly in exposing the relationship between the two nations. Will this double edged game by China boomerang if US, South Korean and Japan decide to take some operational changes in their defence alliances? An aggressive Japan and South Korea may not be in the interest of China, considering there is already unpleasantness in the South China Sea, post Hague verdict. China should test the water carefully it should not happen that in the process of supporting rogue nations it itself gets isolated. These are testing times for nations in the Asia-Pacific region.
