India will not need to import missiles by 2022: DRDO informs Prime Minister Office

India is fast attaining the know-how of developing strategic missile systems indigenously with very little or negligible equipment being imported from outside the country for them. In fact, the defense research agency DRDO chief Avinash Chander has told the prime minister’s office that the agency plans to make plans to make the country “missile import free” by 2022. In fact, a number of missile development programmes are up and running where DRDO is working to make missiles replace the imported systems.
