Lt Gen PK Singh, PVSM, AVSM (Retd),The Director, USI commenced the session with his Welcoming and opening remarks followed by  remarks from Ambassador HK Singh,  Director General, DPG
Introductory remarks were made by Dr Roshan Khanijo, Senior Research Fellow & Research Coordinator, USI.

Later,  Professor Hideya Kurata made a presentation on the North Korea’s Nuclear and Missile programme and its pivotal importance to the stability of the Indo-Pacific region.

In the Question & Answer session participants discussed North Korea’s nuclear weapon capabilities, the emerging escalation ladder, the impact on and the role of India, Japan, China and the US.  The distinguished gathering comprised of ambassadors, scholars, academicians and members from other institutes and organisations.

The session ended with the closing remarks from the Director General, DPG.
