USI organised a scholar’s presentation by Col Anurag Dwivedi, Senior Research Fellow, USI on the subject “Integrating IW Ops with Kinetic Means for Achieving War Objectives: Impact on Force Structuring and Operational Doctrine” on 26 June 2018. The session was chaired by Lt Gen Davinder Kumar, PVSM VSM** (Retd), former SO-in-C of Indian Army and the External Discussant was Gp Capt Ajey Lele, Senior Research Fellow, IDSA. Introductory remarks were made by Dr (Mrs) Roshan Khanijo, Senior Research Fellow & Research Coordinator, USI.
This was Col Anurag Dwivedi third & final presentation on the above topic. He discussed the emergence of “Information” as a battlespace, its unique attributes, the various operations and capabilities, weapon systems and their Integration with kinetic means with a view to derive lessons for formulation of a contemporary information operations doctrine and associated force structures.
The presentation also covered an analysis of the US Cyber Command and Chinese Strategic Support Force (SSF) to highlight how the tactically diverse IW capabilities can be combined into homogenous offensive and defensive fighting formations based on the strategic role.
